Every year, the Atala Chapter of the North American Butterfly Association conducts butterfly counts in North, Central, and South Palm Beach County at nature centers, natural areas and home gardens. These counts are held around the Fourth of July, typically the last weekend in June and/or the first weekend in July. If you would like more information about these counts, please contact us.

This 2020 butterfly counts for Palm Beach County will be held on the following days:

  • June 20, 2020 - South Palm Beach County Circle-Center at Linton Blvd. & Carter Road

  • June 26, 2020 - Central Palm Beach County Circle-Center at Forest Hill & The Turnpike 

  • June 28, 2020 - North Palm Beach County Circle-Center at Donald Ross Road & The Turnpike 

  • July 11, 2020 - Kissimmee Prairie State Park 

  • July 12, 2020 CANCELLED - Okeechobee/Arnold Butterfly Garden

  • July 18, 2020 - Highlands Hammock Circle
