4TH OF JULY BUTTERFLY COUNTS
Every year, the Atala Chapter of the North American Butterfly Association (NABA) conducts butterfly counts in North, Central, and South Palm Beach County at nature centers, natural areas and home gardens. The Atala Chapter also conducts the butterfly count at Highlands Hammock State Park and assists with Kissimmee Prairie State Park. These counts are held around the 4th of July, typically in June and/or early July. If you would like more information about these counts, please contact us.
The North American Butterfly Association (NABA) annual 4th of July Butterfly Count is an important citizen science project to collect data about local butterfly species. NABA’s count surveys are the longest-running butterfly monitoring and largest database in the world and used by researchers, scientists, land managers and many others. See https://naba.org/butterfly-counts for more information. You can see Recent Sightings at https://sightings.naba.org
